Knowing my family were the colonizers of this land, I needed to understand more deeply who my ancestors were and what their experience was in moving to the prairies. Much as I grieve the history as it unfolded, I have always respected the level of stamina and focus they demonstrated in order to survive. Of course these traits were augmented and perhaps only effective given the assistance provided by the First Peoples of this land.
